'Uthman bin 'Affan (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "The best amongst you is the one who learns the Qur'an and teaches it." [Al-Bukhari] 

Shipley Masjid Association prides itself on employing capable teachers who are able to deploy our syllabus in a loving, creative and exciting manner. All our teachers have studied under scholars from Medina University and are proficient in teaching Arabic & Tajweed at the highest level. 

Abdullah ibn Amr said:

"The Prophet of Allah was never obscene or rough. Rather, he used to tell us that the best among us were those with the best manners." (Al-Bukhari) 

Timetable: Qur’an & Arabic School runs Monday, Wednesday & Friday -  5.15pm till 7pm

  • Qur'an Recitation & Tajweed (The Art of Recitation)
  • Tafseer (Explanation of the Meaning of the Quran)
  • Arabic Language (speaking, reading & writing)
  • Seerah - Stories of the Prophets (On whom be peace)
  • Fiqh (Islamic Jurisprudence)
  • Dua’s & Supplications
  • Morals & Manners

Attendance Policy: It is important that the child arrives on time for lessons to start promptly. Lateness affects children’s progress and also disrupts others in the class. The habit of valuing time and being punctual helps in all walks of life.

Picking Up Policy: Parents should arrive at 6.50pm as children begin to back up at 6.55pm, teachers will not wait around after 7pm. Shipley Masjid Association shall not be responsible for transport arrangements to/from the building as this is the responsibility of Parents/Guardians. The management will not be held responsible for the student left outside the premises.

If a parent desires extra care for their child after 7pm there is an extra charge of £10 for each time this occurs.  (This service must be negotiated with the teacher prior to occurrence)

Teachers should not be disturbed during, before or after the lesson, all enquiries, suggestions or grievances should be in writing; made via the website.

Uniform

Boys: White Thawb & White Kufi Hat
Girls: Black Abaya & White Headscarf
 
* Jewellery of any kind is not permitted to be worn during the lesson by Boys or Girls
Including Rings, Bracelets, Anklets, Earrings, Necklaces or Watches

Application Process: Interview, then an Induction.

Fees: £30 a month or £40 Hifz Class, paid strictly by Direct Debit (all fees are non-refundable).

Induction Fee: £20 to be paid in cash on the day of Induction

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "The one who is proficient in the recitation of the Qur'an will be with the honourable and obedient scribes (angels) and he who recites the Qur'an and finds it difficult to recite, doing his best to recite it in the best way possible, will have a double reward." [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]
